Karson
Karson grew up in the same town, in the same house, and even in the same bedroom in Southern California until she packed up her bags and moved a whopping *drum roll* 60 miles up the road to UCLA, where she earned bachelor’s degrees in dance and English. However, for as long as Karson could remember, calling Nashville home was her inexplicable dream, which she finally made a reality in 2022. She moved without a job, community, or a solid plan, but FRC has since checked all of those boxes in her life — and she’s on mission to make sure it continues to empower others in the same way.
Favorite thing about Nashville?
It is a DYNAMIC city of dreamers who are also doers. Whoever you are, whatever you do, wherever you come from or want to go — there’s a seat (or two or three) for you in this town.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
My dance background has a huge impact on how I move, think, communicate, coach, and so on. Over the course of 18 years, dance trained me ‘for excellence,’ but I didn’t understand until I was older that excellence isn’t to be equated with perfection. For me, being excellent comes down to integrity. 45 minutes in dark room with no metrics is a pretty good place to practice that.

What music will I hear in your class?
My music library is a jukebox — there’s a little bit of everything in there. When picking songs for a playlist, I ask myself, “does this make me want to move?” If the answer is yes, you’ll hear it in class.
